Civic Assistance Committee
is a charitable non-governmental organisation.
Our mission is to change the attitude that the government and society have towards migrants
and refugees. Each and every one of us can lose
our home and find ourselves in another country:
Albert Einstein, Marlene Dietrich, Joseph Brodsky, Ludmila Alekseeva were refugees. We are all united by the need of protection and understanding, regardless of the difference in our skin colour, language, traditions. Everyone deserves help.

Annual report 2021
2021 was the year of ups and downs. In the first half of the year, the pandemic slowed down, and migrants and refugees began to return to work. But in August, there was a seizure of power in Afghanistan, because of which more than two times the usual number of refugees from Afghanistan contacted the Committee. Most of them are refugees who studied or worked in Russia, but after the takeover asked for asylum in our country. In August, the law, which was developed with the participation of the Committee, entered into force. In accordance with it, two stateless people at first received special certificates of stateless persons, and in total, with our help, 48 stateless people received legal status and 33 became citizens of Russia.
